Pilgrimage to Italy
Italy Through Her Saints
Join Peter’s Way Tours for a true pilgrimage through Italy, following in the footsteps of the country’s most important saints. Our most popular itinerary will have you walk in the path of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Clare of Assisi, Blessed Carlo Acutis, St. Padre Pio, St. Benedict of Nursia, St. Paul, and St. Peter, great pillars of our holy Catholic Church. Visit Assisi, where St. Francis preached and St. Clare founded her own community, the Order of Poor Clares. Here we look to both Francis and Clare to teach us about Franciscan values, and seek to imitate them as inspired servant leaders.
From Assisi, continue to Manoppello to visit the Shrine of the Holy Face, then on to Lanciano where one of the first Eucharistic Miracles occurred. Visit San Giovanni Rotondo, where St. (Padre) Pio lived from September 1916 until his death in September 1968. Travel to the Sanctuary of Monte Sant’Angelo, situated on top of a mountain on the Gargano Peninsula surrounded by the Adriatic sea, a center point of devotion to St. Michael the Archangel.
En route to Rome, visit the breathtaking monastery of Monte Cassino founded by St. Benedict in 547. Our pilgrimage will culminate in Rome, ever ancient, ever new! The saints will inspire and guide us as we explore this beautiful country and the sacred sites of our Catholic faith. Our itineraries are fully customizable and can be adjusted to venerate the sites and relics of any Italian saint, from St. Catherine of Siena to St. Rita of Cascia, St. Maria Goretti, St. Cecilia, and more.
